The short answer
The most direct way to cash out crypto in Nigeria is a payout to Payoneer, which you then withdraw to your Nigerian bank in naira. It reaches Payoneer the same day your coins confirm. Since January 2026, a Nigerian PayPal account linked to a Paga wallet can receive money too. For foreign subscriptions, load a virtual Visa for 2%, plus $10 on your first card. Airtime, Google Play codes and Western Union cash in naira cover the rest. Orders start at $50 for airtime and gift cards, and $100 for Payoneer and PayPal, on a free account.

Local context
Why naira is the hard part
Getting paid in USDT is the easy bit in Nigeria. Turning it into naira is where it gets messy: a P2P buyer on an exchange, a rate that moves while you wait for them to pay, and the risk that their payment is flagged later and your own account gets restricted with it.
Zilligo takes the stranger out. You send coins to the address on your order, and we pay a service you already use. We cannot pay Nigerian banks directly yet, so Payoneer is the bridge: the money lands in your Payoneer balance, and you withdraw it to GTBank, Access, Zenith or another local account.
Two things changed recently. PayPal now works for receiving in Nigeria once you link it to Paga, which pays out in naira. And the rules are firmer: the Investments and Securities Act 2025 places digital assets under the SEC, and the tax law that took effect in January 2026 counts gains on digital assets as taxable income.
We do not pay Nigerian banks directly yet; naira payouts over NIP are planned. Today, withdraw from Payoneer or a Paga-linked PayPal to banks such as GTBank, Access Bank and Zenith Bank.

Watch out
Common mistakes in Nigeria
A few popular choices simply do not reach people living in Nigeria.
A PayPal that is not linked to Paga
Nigerian PayPal accounts could only send for years. Receiving now runs through Paga, so connect PayPal in the Paga app before you choose it, or the payout has nowhere to land.
Wise
Wise mostly serves Nigeria as a way for people abroad to send naira in. Holding and receiving dollars in a Wise account while living in Nigeria is restricted, so Payoneer is the safer pick.
Cash App, Venmo and Chime
Built for US residents with US bank details. A Nigerian number or address will not get you in.

Local tips
Local know-how in Nigeria
- 1
Send USDT on Tron
A TRC-20 transfer usually costs about $2 to $4 in network fees, and the coin keeps its dollar value while it confirms.
- 2
Withdraw from Payoneer in fewer, larger amounts
Payoneer shows its own fee and rate before you confirm a withdrawal to a Nigerian bank. Every withdrawal pays it, so batch them.
- 3
Tell the collector it comes in naira
Western Union and MoneyGram transfers into Nigeria are paid out in naira under central bank rules, not dollars. Say so before they go to the counter.
- 4
Check the network before sending airtime
Numbers move between MTN, Airtel, Glo and T2 (the former 9mobile), so the first digits do not prove the network. Enter it with +234 and drop the leading zero.
- 5
Keep every order page
Each one shows the coin, the date and the amount, which is what a tax return under the 2026 rules asks about.
What is the best way to cash out USDT in Nigeria?
For most people, Payoneer: we pay your Payoneer balance the same day your coins confirm, and you withdraw to your Nigerian bank in naira. A PayPal account linked to Paga works too. Direct naira bank payouts are planned but not live.
Can I receive a crypto cashout on PayPal in Nigeria?
Yes, if your PayPal account is linked to a Paga wallet. Since January 2026 that link lets Nigerian PayPal accounts receive money and withdraw it in naira. Without it, a Nigerian PayPal account can only send.
How much does it cost?
Our fee is 1% for airtime, 1.5% for Payoneer, PayPal, gift cards and cash pickup, and 2% for the virtual Visa, plus $10 on a first card. Western Union adds its transfer cost, shown in your quote. A $500 Payoneer payout costs $7.50, so you send $507.50 in crypto plus the network fee. Payoneer and Paga set their own withdrawal costs.
Is crypto legal in Nigeria?
Yes. The Investments and Securities Act 2025 treats digital assets as securities and brings exchanges and other crypto firms under the SEC. The rules are still developing, so check what applies to you.
Do I pay tax when I cash out crypto in Nigeria?
You may. From January 2026, Nigeria's new tax law counts gains on digital assets as taxable income. This is general information, not tax advice: keep your order pages and check the current rules with the tax authority or an adviser.
Can my family collect cash in Nigeria?
Yes. Give us the person's full name exactly as on their ID and choose Nigeria as the pickup country. They collect naira at a Western Union or MoneyGram agent with that ID and the reference number, usually the same day.
Which gift cards work for Nigeria?
Google Play codes for a Play account set to Nigeria, Steam codes, which convert to your wallet currency, and Amazon.com codes for the US store. We do not sell a Nigerian Amazon or Apple code.
Do I need a Zilligo account?
Yes, a free one that takes about a minute to set up. Then pick the payout, send the coins, and your quote holds for 20 minutes while you do.
