Amazon and crypto
Why a gift card is the way to spend crypto on Amazon
Amazon does not take Bitcoin, USDT or any other coin as a payment method. What it does take, on every eligible order, is the gift card balance in your account.
So you swap the coins for an Amazon claim code, add it to your account once, and the balance pays for your next orders before your card is touched. There is no card number to share and no bank in the middle.
Each code belongs to one Amazon store, such as Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.de. We sell codes for eight of them. The fee is 1.5% on top, so a $100 card is worth exactly $100 at Amazon.
Your options
Can you pay Amazon with crypto directly?
No. Amazon takes cards, some local methods and its own gift cards. Anyone spending coins there goes through one of these routes.
The usual workarounds
- A crypto debit card means an exchange account, ID checks and card fees
- Selling to a bank first adds days before you can shop
- Peer-to-peer gift card trades leave you waiting on a stranger
- Fine if you already hold a crypto card that Amazon accepts
A Zilligo Amazon gift card
- An Amazon claim code by email, usually in minutes
- Pay from any wallet with seven coins
- Card value and fee on the order page before you send
- A free account in a minute, no bank and no card

Three steps from coins in your wallet to balance on your Amazon account.

Four things for your Amazon code
An Amazon account
On one of the eight stores we sell codes for.
An email for the code
Yours, or the inbox of the person you are buying for.
Coins in any wallet
BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL, XRP or XMR.
$50 or more
Up to $1,000 a card. Split bigger spends over two orders.
Spend it
What Amazon balance pays for
Kindle books and digital items
Ebooks and other digital purchases your store lets gift card balance pay for.
Budgeted shopping
Load only what you plan to spend, so the balance never sits idle.
Price and delivery
1.5% on top, a code in minutes
You pay the card value plus 1.5%, with nothing hidden in the rate. The coin you send decides how soon the code goes out.
Example
Your coin's network cost is on top: a fraction of a cent on Solana or XRP, about $2 to $4 for USDT on Tron.
On a $50 or $100 card, send Solana or XRP: the network cost is a fraction of a cent. For bigger cards, USDT on Tron keeps a steady dollar value and costs about $2 to $4 to send.
How long each coin takes to confirm. Your Amazon code is emailed straight after.
Where it works
Eight Amazon stores, nine countries
An Amazon code only loads into an account on the store it was issued for. Nigeria has no Amazon store of its own, so shoppers there use Amazon.com codes.
Amazon's rules
How Amazon treats a gift card balance
Amazon sets these rules, not us. They are worth knowing before you choose a value.
Two stores can share a currency and still be separate, like Amazon.de and other euro stores. Match the store, not the currency.
- Works on
- The store the code was issued for
- Moving it
- Stays on the account that redeems it
- Back to cash
- Not possible
- At checkout
- Used first on eligible orders
Zilligo per order
- $50 to $1,000, 1.5% on top
Before you order
Six tips for Amazon codes
- 1
Find your store first
It is the Amazon address you sign in to and where your past orders sit. Moved abroad? Your account may still belong to the old store.
- 2
Pick your store at checkout
Choose the Amazon store your account uses, from Amazon.com to Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.de, so the code is issued for the right one.
- 3
Ask the person you are gifting
Check which Amazon site they shop on. A guessed store is how a gift code goes to waste.
- 4
Use a cheap coin on small cards
A $2 network cost on a $50 card adds another 4%. Solana and XRP cost almost nothing.
- 5
Paying with XRP? Add the tag
Your order shows a destination tag. Without it, the payment cannot be matched to your card.
- 6
Treat the code like cash
Whoever redeems it first gets the balance. No real company or government office asks to be paid in gift cards.
Help
Amazon code problems, solved
Amazon says the code is for another store
The code and your account belong to different stores, and Amazon does not move balance between them. Contact support with your order reference before you try again.
Amazon says the code was already redeemed
Check your gift card balance and its history first, as it may have gone in on an earlier try. If not, send support your order reference and Amazon's exact message.
The code has not arrived
Look in spam and promotions, then at your order page. If your coins confirmed and nothing came, message support with the reference.
My balance was not used at checkout
On the payment step, make sure the option to use your gift card balance is ticked before you place the order.

FAQ
Amazon gift cards and crypto, answered
Problem with a code? Contact support with your order reference, we usually reply within an hour.
How do I buy an Amazon gift card with crypto?
Choose Amazon, enter the value and the email for the code, and send the coins shown on your order page. The claim code is emailed once they confirm.
Can I buy an Amazon gift card with Bitcoin?
Yes. Choose Bitcoin as your coin. It usually confirms in 10 to 30 minutes, and the code is sent right after.
Which Amazon stores do your codes work on?
Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.ca, Amazon.com.mx, Amazon.in, Amazon.com.tr and Amazon.ae. Each code works on its own store only.
Can I use a US code on Amazon.co.uk?
No. Amazon keeps a separate balance for each store, and a code from one cannot be redeemed on another.
How much does it cost?
The card value plus 1.5%, plus your coin's network cost. A $100 card costs $101.50 from us, so the card is worth the full $100.
What values can I buy?
From $50 to $1,000 per order. For more, place a second order.
Can I buy it for someone else?
Yes. Put their email on the order or pass the code on privately. Once they redeem it, the balance stays on their account.
Can I turn the balance back into cash?
No. Amazon does not let you withdraw gift card balance or move it to another account. If you want money, pick a bank or wallet payout instead.
Do Amazon gift cards expire?
Amazon sets the terms for each store, including any expiry. Check the gift card terms on your store's help pages.
Is a virtual Visa cheaper for Amazon?
No. Our virtual Visa costs 2%, plus a $10 issuing fee on your first card, against 1.5% for an Amazon gift card. The card works on other sites too, while a gift card skips the card step and goes straight into your Amazon balance.
Do I need an account?
Yes, a free Zilligo account that takes about a minute to set up. After that, the only detail we need is an email for the code.
Is buying a gift card with crypto taxed?
Spending crypto usually counts as selling it, which is taxable in many countries. This is general information, not tax advice, so keep your order reference and check your local rules.
