About SEPA
What SEPA is, and why it suits a crypto cashout
SEPA is the Single Euro Payments Area: one set of rules that lets a bank in one European country pay euros to a bank in another as easily as a payment at home. More than 40 countries take part, from every EU member state to the UK, Switzerland and Norway.
Every account in that area has an IBAN. The IBAN and the holder's name are all a SEPA payout needs, so there is nothing to link and no banking login to share.
With Zilligo, your coins go to the address on your order page and the euros go to your IBAN. There is no exchange account to open, and the fee is a flat 1%, shown before you send.
Exchange or Zilligo
Why not sell on an exchange and withdraw by SEPA?
Plenty of exchanges pay out by SEPA too. The difference is what they ask of you before the money moves.
Exchange sale, then SEPA withdrawal
- ID and address checks before your first sale
- A trading fee, a spread and a withdrawal fee
- Limits that depend on your account level
- Sensible if you trade there every week anyway
Zilligo by SEPA
- Only your IBAN and the account holder's name
- Send from any wallet or exchange
- One 1% fee, with the payout shown first
- Up to $15,000 in a single order

Before you start
What a SEPA payout needs
An IBAN in the SEPA area
Personal or business, at any bank that receives SEPA transfers.
The account holder's name
Spelled the way your bank has it on the account.
Coins in any wallet
USDT, BTC, ETH, BNB, SOL, XRP or XMR.
$500 or more
Up to $15,000 in one order, our highest limit.
Euros at home
What the euros can do next
Get paid for remote work
Turn crypto from clients abroad into euros at home.
Spend with your bank card
Your normal debit card works with the euros once they land.
Fee and timing
1%, usually there in 1 to 2 hours
One fee, inside your quote. The wait is your coin confirming, then the SEPA transfer itself.
Example
Your coin's network cost is on top: about $2 to $4 for USDT on Tron, a fraction of a cent on Solana or XRP.
Our pick for SEPA: USDT on Tron. A stablecoin keeps its value while it confirms, which matters on larger payouts, and it costs about $2 to $4 to send.
Coin confirmation times. We send the SEPA transfer once they finish.
Where it works
Any IBAN in the SEPA area
SEPA covers the 27 EU states, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, the UK, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and Vatican City, plus newer members in the Western Balkans and Moldova. If your account has an IBAN in one of them and takes SEPA transfers, you can cash out to it.
Get it right
Five checks for a SEPA payout
- 1
Paste the IBAN, do not retype it
Copy it from your banking app. A single wrong character can bounce the transfer.
- 2
Use the name your bank has
Euro-area banks now compare the name with the IBAN before a transfer goes out. Give the exact account holder name.
- 3
Order early on a working day
Weekends and public holidays can push a transfer to the next banking day.
- 4
Prefer a euro account
SEPA pays in euros. A non-euro account may convert them at your bank's rate.
- 5
Keep your order page
It records the coins, the amount and the date, useful for your bank and your tax return.
If something is off
SEPA payout problems, solved
The transfer came back
Usually the IBAN or the name did not match. Contact support with your order reference and the correct details.
It is not there after two hours
Check whether it is a weekend or a holiday. If not, send support your order reference and we will check the transfer.
My bank asked about the money
Banks can ask where a payment came from. Your order page shows the coins you sent and the payout.
I need to send more than $15,000
Split it into several orders, or talk to support before you start.
Compare
Crypto to a European bank: three routes
A Zilligo order, an exchange sale with a SEPA withdrawal, or selling to someone you do not know.
How do I cash out crypto by SEPA?
Choose SEPA, enter your IBAN and the account holder's name, then send the coins your order page shows. Once they confirm, we send the euros by SEPA transfer.
What is a SEPA transfer?
A euro bank transfer between accounts in the SEPA area. The same rules apply in every member country, so a cross-border euro payment works like one at home.
How long does crypto to SEPA take?
Usually 1 to 2 hours after your coins confirm, on banking days. A weekend or a holiday can move it to the next banking day.
Which countries can receive a SEPA payout?
More than 40: every EU country, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, the UK, a few small European states, and newer members in the Western Balkans and Moldova.
Do I receive euros?
Yes. SEPA transfers are made in euros. Your order is priced in US dollars, and the quote shows our fee before you send. If you need a fixed euro figure, ask support before you order.
Can my account be in another currency?
If your bank accepts SEPA transfers, it decides whether to convert the euros and at what rate.
What do you need from me?
Your IBAN and the account holder's name. Never your online banking login.
Will my bank check the name?
Euro-area banks now run a name check, called Verification of Payee, before a euro transfer is sent. Give the name exactly as your bank shows it.
What are the fees?
1% to us plus your coin's network cost. On a $1,000 payout our fee is $10.
What is the most I can cash out?
Up to $15,000 per order, our highest limit, shared with ACH and Wise. The smallest SEPA order is $500.
Do I need a Zilligo account?
Yes, a free one that takes about a minute. There are no ID documents to upload for a standard order.
Do I pay tax on a SEPA cashout?
Selling crypto is taxable in most European countries. This is general information, not tax advice: keep your order reference, date and amount, and check your local rules.
