The short answer
To sell Bitcoin for cash with Zilligo, pick a payout and an amount, then send the BTC shown on your order page to its address on the Bitcoin network. Bitcoin usually confirms in 10 to 30 minutes, and the payout follows: minutes for PayPal, a virtual Visa or gift cards, 1 to 2 hours for SEPA, 1 to 2 business days for ACH. The fee is 1% to 2% depending on the payout, and you see it before you send.

About BTC
Why selling Bitcoin usually takes days, and how this skips them
The usual route has three waits. You deposit BTC to an exchange and wait for its confirmation rule, you sell on its order book, then you wait again for a bank withdrawal that can take up to five business days. Each step carries its own fee, and the exchange wants your ID before any of it. The exchange route guide lays those fees out screen by screen.
Here there is one wait: the Bitcoin network itself. You send one normal payment to your order's address, and once it confirms we pay the amount you were quoted to the payout you chose. Nothing to deposit, nothing to sell, nothing to withdraw.
Two things decide how that wait feels. The fee rate you pick in your wallet sets your place in the queue, and in early November 2026 the lowest normal rate, 1 sat/vB, was reaching the next block, so a simple payment cost cents. And your rate is held for 20 minutes from the moment you create the order: get the payment onto the network inside that window and a slow block cannot change your payout. Why blocks sometimes stall is covered in Bitcoin confirmation time.
Weighing ATMs, OTC desks or P2P as well? How to cash out Bitcoin runs $1,000 of BTC through every route and counts what lands.

Avoid these
Read this before you send BTC
A short check here keeps your order on track.
Paying over Lightning
Your order address is an on-chain Bitcoin address. A Lightning payment, or BTC wrapped as a token on another chain, never arrives there.
Setting a fee below what miners take
Some wallets let you go under 1 sat/vB, and many miners skip those payments. Keep the wallet's normal setting, which costs cents on a quiet day.
Letting the exchange take its fee out of the amount
Most exchanges deduct their withdrawal fee from the BTC you type. Add it on top so the exact amount on your order arrives; a short payment is put on hold for review.
Creating the order, then going to buy the BTC
The rate is held for 20 minutes. Have the Bitcoin in your wallet before you start, so the payment leaves inside that window.
Step by step
How to sell Bitcoin with Zilligo
- 1
Choose the payout and the amount
Say where the money goes and how much you want there. The order shows the BTC to send to eight decimals, with our fee already counted in.
- 2
Send one on-chain payment
Scan the QR code or paste the address, enter the exact amount and keep your wallet's normal fee. Do it within the 20 minutes.
- 3
Watch it confirm, then get paid
Your order page follows the transaction. When it confirms, the payout goes out and the page moves on to it.
Tips
Before your next Bitcoin sale
- 1
Read the fee rate, not the dollar figure
Wallets set fees in sat/vB. On a calm day 1 to 2 sat/vB reaches the next block or two; a busy day needs more.
- 2
Send from a bc1 address if you can
SegWit and Taproot payments take fewer bytes than legacy ones, so the same fee rate costs you less.
- 3
Keep the transaction ID
If a payment sits unconfirmed, support finds it fastest with the txid and your order reference. Speeding it up with replace-by-fee creates a new txid, so send us that one too.
- 4
Match big sales to a big payout
PayPal stops at $5,000 an order. SEPA, ACH and Wise go to $15,000, all at 1%. Every limit is on the limits page.
- 5
Keep the order for tax
Selling BTC is usually a taxable disposal. Save the order page with its date, amount and rate; the tax guide explains what to record.

Questions
Questions about selling Bitcoin

How do I sell Bitcoin for cash?
Create an order with the payout and amount you want, send the BTC it shows to its Bitcoin address, and wait for the network to confirm. We then send the money to PayPal, your bank, a card, a gift card or a cash pickup.
How long until I have the money?
Bitcoin usually takes 10 to 30 minutes to confirm, longer when blocks are slow. After that, PayPal, gift cards and the virtual Visa take minutes, SEPA 1 to 2 hours, cash pickup the same day and ACH 1 to 2 business days.
What does it cost to sell Bitcoin here?
1% for bank payouts, 1.5% for PayPal, other wallets, gift cards and cash pickup, and 2% for the virtual Visa, plus $10 on a first card. Western Union and MoneyGram add their own transfer cost. The fee sits on top of your payout and is on the order before you send. Your wallet's network fee is separate, and in early November 2026 it was a matter of cents. All fees are on the fees page.
Is the rate fixed while Bitcoin confirms?
Yes, as long as your payment reaches the network within the 20 minutes the quote is held. The hold covers sending, not confirming, so a slow block does not move your payout. A payment sent after the 20 minutes is recalculated at the rate when it is confirmed.
Can I send Bitcoin over Lightning?
No. Orders take on-chain BTC on the Bitcoin network only. If your wallet offers both, choose the on-chain option.
My payment is still unconfirmed. What now?
Usually nothing: it confirms once a block has room for its fee rate. If it has waited for hours, you can raise the fee with replace-by-fee in your wallet, then send support the new transaction ID. Bitcoin confirmation time explains RBF and CPFP.
Do I need ID to sell Bitcoin?
A standard order needs a free account, which takes a minute, and no ID documents. Large or unusual orders may be reviewed by a person, and your payout provider has its own rules.
Is this better than selling on an exchange?
For most amounts it is simpler: one payment instead of deposit, sell and withdraw, and payouts an exchange does not offer, such as PayPal or cash pickup. If you already have a verified exchange account and only need a bank withdrawal, a large trade there can cost less.
