The short answer

To cash out crypto in the Philippines, choose PayPal as your payout and send your coins from any wallet. Once they confirm, the money reaches your PayPal within minutes. Cash it in to GCash from inside the GCash app, or withdraw to BDO, BPI or another bank. For family without an app, Western Union or MoneyGram pay out cash the same day, and phone load comes straight from crypto. Our fees run from 1% to 2%, on a free account that takes a minute to set up.

Good to know

Crypto rules in the Philippines, in plain words

Owning and selling crypto is legal in the Philippines. Since July 2025 the SEC asks platforms that offer crypto services to Filipinos to register, and it has blocked several offshore exchanges.

Those rules are written for the platforms, not for you as someone selling your own coins. You can cash out with Zilligo, and the routes below land in accounts you already use.

  • Cash out to an account in your own name, such as PayPal or Payoneer, then move the money to GCash or your bank.
  • Keep your order pages as a record of each sale.
  • Cashing out a large amount? Check the latest SEC notices first, as the rules are still being filled in.
  • Not sure which route fits? Our support team can help you choose.

Local context

Where money actually lives in the Philippines

Most everyday spending here runs through GCash or Maya, and a lot of household money still arrives as padala from relatives abroad, collected at a pawnshop or remittance counter. A cashout is only useful if it ends up in one of those places.

We cannot pay GCash or a Philippine bank directly yet. PayPal is the bridge that works today: a verified Philippine PayPal account can receive money, and it can be linked to a fully verified GCash account and cashed in from the GCash app. PayPal's own bank withdrawals are free from ₱7,000 and cost ₱50 below that (October 2026).

Our orders are priced in US dollars. When PayPal turns those dollars into pesos it adds its own conversion margin, which it lists at 3% for the Philippines. Load skips that step entirely, because it arrives as credit on the number you choose.

Local bank payoutsPlanned

Direct payouts to Philippine banks and e-wallets over InstaPay or PESONet are planned, not live. Until then, PayPal is the way into BDO, BPI, Metrobank or GCash, and its bank withdrawals are free from ₱7,000.

Watch out

Skip these in the Philippines

Worth knowing before you choose a payout in the Philippines.

Apple gift cards

Our Apple codes are for US and Indian accounts only. A Philippine Apple account will not accept them.

Cash App, Venmo and Chime

All three need an American account, so nobody living in the Philippines can receive them.

Padala under a nickname

Counters pay out only to the full name on a government ID. A nickname or a missing middle name on the order can mean a wasted trip.

Local tips

Before you cash out in the Philippines

  1. 1

Link PayPal and GCash before you order

GCash asks for a Fully Verified account and a verified Philippine PayPal. Sort out both first, so the money can move as soon as it lands.

  2. 2

Convert to pesos inside PayPal first

GCash cashes in a PHP balance from PayPal. Convert the dollars to PHP in PayPal, then tap Cash In, Global Banks and Partners, PayPal.

  3. 3

Withdraw ₱7,000 or more at a time

Below that, PayPal charges ₱50 per bank withdrawal. Batching a few cashouts saves the fee.

  4. 4

Ask which network a number is on

Since number portability, the first digits no longer prove a number is Globe, Smart or DITO. Check with the person before you send load.

  5. 5

Wise works here, with one catch

Wise accounts in the Philippines can send to GCash and Maya, at our 1% fee. Wise may refuse money linked to crypto platforms, so keep PayPal as your backup.

Questions

Quick answers for people in the Philippines

Need a hand choosing? Talk to us, we are quick to answer.

Can I cash out crypto straight to GCash?

Not directly yet. Cash out to PayPal, convert the balance to PHP, then cash in from the GCash app under Global Banks and Partners. GCash sets its own cash-in limits.

What about Maya?

We do not pay Maya directly. Withdraw from PayPal to your bank and move it to Maya from there, or use Wise, which can send pesos to Maya.

How long does a cashout take?

PayPal, Wise, load and gift codes usually arrive within minutes of your coins confirming. Payoneer and cash pickup arrive the same day. USDT on Tron confirms in a few minutes; Bitcoin usually takes 10 to 30.

How much does it cost?

1% for Wise and load, 1.5% for PayPal, Payoneer, gift codes and cash pickup, and 2% for the virtual Visa, plus $10 on a first card. Western Union and MoneyGram add their own transfer cost. Every fee sits on top of your payout and you see it before you send. Orders start at $50 for load and gift codes, $100 for PayPal, Payoneer and cash pickup, and $500 for Wise.

Can my family collect cash in the Philippines?

Yes. Western Union and MoneyGram both pay out cash across the country. Each order names one receiver and the pickup country; they bring a valid government ID and the reference we send you.

Is cashing out crypto legal in the Philippines?

Owning and selling crypto is legal. Since July 2025 the SEC requires platforms offering crypto services to Filipinos to register, and it has had several offshore exchanges blocked. The rules are still moving, so check the latest SEC and BSP notices.

Do I pay tax on crypto in the Philippines?

There is no crypto-specific tax law yet, and how general income tax applies to crypto gains is not fully settled. This is general information, not tax advice: keep your order records and check with the BIR or a tax adviser.

Which gift cards work on a Philippine account?

Google Play codes for the Philippine store, and Steam wallet codes, which convert to your Steam wallet's currency when you redeem. Both run from $50 to $500 an order.
